Abstract

190,652. White, A. E., (Firestone Steel Products Co.). Jan. 23, 1922. Spokes, securing and adjusting.-A metal felloe 6 is formed with depressions 9 to receive bosses 4 on the outer ends of the (preferably wood) spokes 1, the inner mitred ends 2 of which are formed with stepped overlapping tenons 3. The felloe 6 is shrunk over the assembled spokes, a tyre-carrying rim 10 being then shrunk on to the beaded flanges 8 of the felloe. The rings 10, 6 may be further secured by rivets, or by a metal ferrule which may constitute a housing for the tyre valve stem 21. Specification 175,155 is referred to.
