11,755. Clayton, T. A. June 5. Disinfecting. - Gaseous disinfectants, such as sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, &c., are supplied to rooms and other closed spaces by injecting- apparatus, provided with means for admixing air or other gases. The sulphur dioxide or other gas may be stored under high pressure, and the pressure reservoir heated when gas is being supplied. The gas passes through the pipe a to the internal tube b, which is provided with a regulating-spindle c. Air or other gas is admitted through the inlets f, g, of which one is shown provided with a valve h. When the gas is supplied under constant pressure, the regulating-spindle may be omitted and a perforated cone may be placed over the end of the internal tube to increase the induction of air &c. through the inlets f, g. When desirable, the inlet f may be connected by a pipe to the room under treatment, so that the air for admixture with disinfecting-gas is withdrawn from the room itself.
