Abstract

3 4 3 4. Weber, K., M³ller, E., and Kestner, H. Feb. 23, 1904, [date applied for under Patents Act, 1901]. Void. [Published under Patents Act, 1901.] Spindle apparatus.-The tension of the thread is regulated automatically in ring frames by means of a driven ring, arranged within or without the fixed ring in such a position that an increase in the thread tension causes the traveller to be moved into engagement with the driven ring, to be driven thereby until the tension is decreased. Fig. 2 shows the driven ring t mounted on ball bearings within the fixed ring r and driven from the spindle by means of a sliding coupling. Under normal thread tension, the traveller o is in the position s<1> and runs clear of the ring t, but an increased tension brings the traveller to the position s<2>, when it engages the ring and is driven thereby. The upper edge. of the driven ring may be provided with cuts, crenulations, or the like v.
