Abstract

18,418. Batson, S. R. Aug. 21. Belt fastenings.- A fastener for belting consists of apiece of metal or wire a bent up at the ends so that it may be passed through holes in the ends of the belts. The ends of the piece a, after they are passed through the belt c, are sprung together to enter holes b<1> in a thin plate b, and are forced through until notches or grooves a<1> in the ends spring into engagement with the plate. The notches may be formed in one or both sides of the ends of the piece a and adapted to engage narrow parts of the holes in the plate. If the plate be wide, two or more pieces a may be engaged therewith.
