The key M operates a lever L, which operates separately adjustable supply and exhaust valves V<1>, V<2>, the former being situated in a pressure chest K. Wind can thus be admitted to, or exhausted from, tubes T', T', the former of which leads direct to a chest G and thence through a tube T<3> to the apparatus which produces the sound proper to the key, while the latter, viz. T', leads to a coupling-box E, which may be of any suitable construction. As soon as the wind controlled by the tube T<2> passes to the tube T<3>, a valve V<3> closes, thus interrupting the passage between the tubes T<1>, T<3>.
