Abstract
11,624. Gottschalk, M. June 26. Tents.-The frame is constructed of uprights b, c, d connected together by wire ropes pegged to the ground so as to form internal curved supports for the canvas r. Glass panes g in wood frames are inserted in canvas pockets in the walls of the tent. The roof canvas is curved so as to direct the water between the windows, and curved rope or other deflecting-ridges are stitched to the canvas above the windows. A canvas drainage pocket at the bottom of each window is provided with an outlet orifice. The internal poles b, for supporting the ridge pole a, are connected by T-headed bolts n to slotted foundation plates q, which are fixed to the ground by spikes through the holes p. Vertical walls m may be suspended below the windows, and the space between the walls may be used for storage purposes &c. The wire ropes may be cased in canvas, and are adjustable by screwed couplings.
