Switches. - Contact is secured between the movable arm 4 and the fixed contacts 2 and 3 by means of curved and slotted metallic washers 5. In order to give a quick break, a supplementary contact 16, pivoted between plates 7 and working between spring contacts 15, may be provided. The head is held between the contacts until the switch arm is raised into the position shown in dotted lines, when the heel 10 forces it out and the springs 12 give a quick break.
