Steam-generator &c. furnaces; blast apparatus.- Relates to furnaces for boilers and the like wherein forced draught is used such as are referred to in Specifications No. 6645, A.D. 1891, and No. 9309, A.D. 1895, the objects being the silencing and deadening of noise and vibration caused by the blast. Fig. 2 shows a furnace with the arrangements fitted thereto, and Fig. 3 a view of the blast apparatus. Air from the trunk B is forced into the furnace through the nozzle P by means of steam from the nozzle N. The latter is contained within the box B external to the furnace, the box being covered with the closely-fitting plate C. The steam supply may be superheated in the pipe S'.
