Abstract

189,658. Graubner, J. F., Khaan, R. H., and Handley, G. W. Dec. 12, 1921. Detachable sockets with clamping and toothed locking-devices. - A socket device for fixing handles to broom and like heads, comprises two semi-tubular members pivoted together intermediate their ends, and having a clamping-band for forcing the upper ends on to the handle and simultaneosly expanding the other end in the brush socket. Teeth on the members engage the socket and handle. As shown, the members 1, 2 are pivoted together at 4, and are provided with external teeth 5 and internal teeth 6. A clamping-band 7 surrounds the upper end of the members and may be attached to one of them. It is provided with lugs perforated for a clamping-bolt 8, by means of which the teeth 6 are forced into the handle 12 and the teeth 5 into the walls of the socket 10.
