Abstract

189,076. Griffon, G. Oct. 4, 1921. Spray carburettors. - Above the sprayer a is mounted an atomizer b, preferably of double conical form exteriorly, having an axial bore c throughout its length, air inlets d at its lower end and outlets e for fuel and air at its widest part. The atomizer is located within a choke tube f, and when suction occurs t h e upward stream of mixed air and fuel within the atomizer is met by a downward current of air. The meeting of the two currents produces thorough atomization of the fuel and intimate mixture thereof with the air before being discharged through the orifices e into the main air passage. The. downward current of air also serves to prevent, in certain conditions, an excessive flow cf fuel.
