Rotary containers; air, controlling circulation of.-The laundry clothes-drier is supplied by independent means with hot and cold air or with other media for drying and aerating the clothes respectively. As shown, the clothes are dried in a perforated cylinder 12 rotatively mounted in a casing 10 by a current of air which is passed by a fan 16 through a heater 13, the supply of air to the cylinder and the exhaust to the stack 27 being controlled by pivoted dampers 18, 25 connected by links 21, 30 respectively to a hand-lever 24. After the materials have been dried, the dampers 18, 25 are preferably closed and the pivotally-mounted damper 35 in the conduit 36 opened to admit cold air through the conduit 33, branch conduits 34, and cylinder in the opposite direction to that in which the hot air passes through the cylinder. The damper 35 may be connected to the lever 21 so as to be operated simultaneously with the dampers 18, 25.
