Abstract

Levels.-For levelling a flexible line or cord, a spirit-level 3 is pivoted centrally at 5 to a base frame 1 to which one end of the line is anchored, while the other end passes over the pivot pin and close to the underside of the level and out through a hole 16 in the end of the frame, so that when this end is pulled tight it can be raised or lowered . to centre the bubble. The line is wound on a drum 6 fitted with ratchet mechanism for preventing further rotation when the desired length has been unwound, and passes around a spring pulley 11 to ensure tautness. To enable the device to be used as an ordinary spirit-level, screws 19 are provided for locking the level 3 against pivotal movement.
