Abstract
183,679. Sage & Co., Ltd., F., and Hawes, S. C. June 23, 1921. Sectional furniture composed of sections A, B, C, D separated by pilasters e, f and subdivided into sub-sections such as a, b', c, d is assembled by means of substantially U-shaped coupling- members i, the arms of which engage sockets j secured to opposed vertical faces of the subsections, the construction being such that the members i tend to draw the adjacent sub-sections together. Battens k act as distance-pieces. The pilasters e, f are rabbeted along their edges as shown in Fig. 3 and carry hook-like member, l which engage apertures i<1> in the parts i. The ends of the sectional structure are covered by panelled or panel-like members m secured to .the end sub-sections by the engagement of parts i with sockets j on the sub-sections and on the panels. The panels m may also carry battens or which abut against the battens k and hooks p which engage additional sockets q on the end subsections.
