Abstract

182,092. Johnstone, F. W. June 20, 1921, [Convention date]. Radius-rods.-The rear ends of the front axle radius-rods are secured to one end of a U-shaped spring, the other end of which is fixed to the chassis. As shown, the front ends of the radius rods 3 are bolted to axle brackets 5 carrying a transverse bearing spring 7, their rear ends being welded together and provided with a ball which is seated in a socket formed by depressions 16, 18 in the end 15 of the bowed spring 1 and in a securing-plate 13. The end 8 of the bowed spring is secured to a bracket, &c. 9 on the gear casing 2.
