Abstract

179,270. Paterson, W. Jan. 31, 1921. Filters with loose filtering-materials.-The discharge valve from filtering apparatus is subjected to a dual automatic control, one part of which depends on the rate of discharge as measured or indicated by pressure variations or differences. As shown, the equilibrium valve b regulating the discharge is connected to a float c above the filter and to a diaphragm or piston d, the pressure on which depends upon the rate of discharge through a restricted orifice e. The connection between the valve b and the float c may allow of lost motion. Specification 411/12 is referred to.
