Abstract

176,708. McLean, K. H. May 4, 1921. Collapsable vessels.-In boats with collapsable bulwarks, which are maintained in the erect position by rigid stanchions automatically locked in their raised position, the stanchion consists of a. bar 8 hinged at 9 to the bulwark 5 and bearing a notched end 10 which co-operates with a pin 13 bridging a gap in a disc plate 12 to maintain the bar in the erect position. When the bulwarks are collapsed, the stanchion extends into the lower structure of the boat.
