Abstract

27,921. Henderson, W. A. Dec. 4. Collapsible boats, having a lower buoyant portion and an upper collapsible portion provided with seats secured to the rigid gunwale, which are supported by hinged struts beneath them, are fitted with stem and stern posts 12, 13 hinged to the deck 10. These hinged portions maintain the gunwale 5 in its raised position by locking pins 16 passing through flanges 17 on the gunwale, and are turned by means connected with the davits used for lowering the boat.
