Abstract
174,362. Henriod, C. E. Jan. 21, 1921, [Convention date]. Variable-speed toothed gearing consists of a wheel B with two rings of internal teeth of different diameter, made in one with the driven shaft. The driving-shaft G with a pinion A on its end is mounted in an eccentric bearing D which can rotate and slide in a tubular support E, carried in the casing H, whereby the pinion can be brought into mesh with either ring of teeth, acting as a clutch when engaging the smaller ring C. A rod F controlled by a lever engages a slot R in the casing H for guiding the movement of the bearing D. More than two rings of teeth may be formed in the wheel B, or more than one pinion may be employed.
