Covers; sheets; fastenings; attaching files to covers; filing-compartments united by collapsable sides.-Files of book form are used singly in a binder case of book-cover form, of which the bottom cover G, Fig. 6, is provided with guides H for slide blocks J carrying pivoted links K attached to an adjustable strap fastening M, which serves for holding the file closed, and can be moved bodily towards the inner edge to permit access to the leaves of the file, or diagonally at either end to permit inspection of the leaves at the corresponding corners. The slide blocks J are formed with curved edges to permit rotajy movement in the guides when the strap is placed diagonally. The files are of the kind comprising a number of index leaves bound together between top and bottom covers B, C, Fig. 1, connected by a pleated back binding D. The leaves are formed with diagonal corrugations, as shown in Fig. 5, and are assembled so that the corrugations on adjacent leaves run in opposite directions The bottom cover of the file is scored to provide a tongue which can be bent round the back binding, as shown at E in Fig. 1, to form a label and wrapper, and is slotted to receive a fastening- tape F for securing the filled file for storage. The bottom covers of the files and the case are prcvided with means for temporary connection, for example the bottom of the case may be slotted to receive the label tongue of the file, or pressstud fastenings 'g, Fig. 6, may be used.
