Abstract

173,172. Heneimer, R. H. Jan. 18, 1921. Tread bands, projections, and surfaces. - A series of curved plates 15, connected by side wires 31, 32, are each formed with a stepped aperture to receive a tread stud 21, the enlarged base of which is held by a cup 25 screwed into the plate. The studs are free to rotate in the cups, and the base-portions of the latter engage in undercut recesses 12 in the tyre-cover 11. In a modification, the inter-engaging parts of the studs and cups are formed conical.
