Sleepers, metal; tie-bars.-T-shaped longitudinal sleepers have the inner arm 4 secured to a tie-bar 8 by a bolt 9 engaging a threaded boss 8<a> and a clip 10 riveted to the tie-bar. The rail A is also secured to the sleeper by a clip 6, or by a clip formed by bending back the outer arm. The inner arm may also be bent back to provide a rail seat.
