Abstract

175,546. Grubb, A. L. March 8, 1921. Sleepers, composite, pot; tie-bars. - Sleepers comprising hollow metal parts 3 with wooden fillings 12, have the parts 3 engaged at one end 4 by a threaded tie-bar 6. The tie-bar has a central enlargement 9 for adjustment by a wrench, and is locked by nuts 11. The rail spikes 14 pass through apertures in the heads 3 into the blocks 12, which are creosoted.
