Clips, sheet-metal.-In a paper clip in which the jaws of a spring body 4 are actuated by a pair of levers 1, hinge-jointed at 3, and adapted to lie against the papers in the closed position, the levers are caused to snap near the end of their opening or closing movements by forming the journal parts 2 of the levers flattened or crank-shaped, at or near their ends, so as to act on correspondingly-placed integral spring tongues 6 on the body 4. In a modification. Fig. 7, the levers are formed from sheet-metal blanks 11, the portions between the journal parts 12 being formed with flats 13 to be acted upon by spring tongue portions 14 of the body 4.
