Abstract
161,458. Cross, S. May 12, 1920. Holders for sliding windows. -The sliding windows of railway carriages and other vehicles are held in any position by catches 6 sliding in the frame and engaging racks 3 mounted in recesses in the sashes. The catches are engaged by the reduced ends 8 of a spring-pressed rod 9 sliding in guides 10 in the frame and are released against the action of the spring 11 by a forked lever 15 pivoting on a longitudinal part 14 and operated by a knob &c. 20. Leaf springs 22 and buffer springs 26 are provided to prevent slamming.
