Abstract

157,870. Tekniske Forsogsaktieselskab. Jan. 15. 1920, [Convention date]. Machinery, utilizing inertia to obtain movements in.-In a mechanism for converting rotary into reciprocating motion in which one or more rotating centrifugal weights impart reciprocating motion to a member to, which they are pivoted, means are provided for imparting a progressive movement to the reciprocating member, such as the tup of a drop hammer or the flapping wing of an ornithopter. In the construction shown, a weight o is on the end of a rotating arm s pivoted to the member a adapted to reciprocate in slides f. The motion of the member a is restricted by buffers d, e and by adjusting these buffers a translatory or progressive motion can be imparted to the member. Two weights arranged on the ends of arms rotating in opposite directions may be employed.
