Sliding-jaw wrenches; w r e n c h handles.-In wrenches of the kind in which the fixed jaw serves as a guide for the movable jaw and is pivotally connected to an operating handle which has a toothed sector engaging a rack on the movable jaw, the guide is T-shaped and the handle is either slightly curved or it is straight with a projection or other mark on one s.de to indicate the direction either for closing or opening the jaws. As shown, the fixed jaw b is provided with a slot e, Fig. 5, of inverted T-shape forming a guide for a corresponding tenon f<1> integral with the movable jaw f, and is pivoted at c to a handle d slightly curved as shown in Fig. 2 and having its end formed as a toothed sector h engaging a rack g on the underside of the tenon f<1>.
