Abstract

157,023. Otto, A. C. April 19, 1920. Laminar springs.-In an arrangement for supporting the body of a railway or like vehicle so that as the load increases the leverage on the springs decreases, the free ends 4 of the springs 2 are extended parallel to the under-frame 1, and the underframe is supported thereon by means of intermediate supporting-members 5 provided with rollers 6 whereby they can move longitudinally between the under-frame and springs. The movement of the supporting-members 5 is effected through the medium of bell-crank levers 13 pivoted to brackets 14 on the underframe and having the shorter arms connected by pins and slots to a standard 12 on the anchored portion of the spring 2 and the longer arms connected by rods 15 to the members 5.
