Abstract

A primary disazo dye is obtained by coupling one molecular part of diazotized p-nitraniline or acet-p-phenylenediamine in acid solution with one molecular part of 1 : 8 : 4 - aminonaphthol sulphonic acid, and coupling a further molecular part of diazotized p-nitraniline or acet-p-phenylenediamine in alkaline solution with the resulting monoazo dye, and finally reducing or saponifying the product. The dye gives greenish-black shades on cotton, wool, silk, artificial silk, or mixed goods, and may be diazotized on the fibre and coupled with b -naphthol, m-phenylenediamine, m-toluylenediamine, resorcin, &c.ALSO:A primary disazo dye is obtained by coupling one molecular part of diazotized p-nitraniline or acet-p-phenylenediamine in acid solution with one molecular part of 1 : 8 : 4-aminonaphthol sulphonic acid, and coupling a further molecular part of diazotized p-nitraniline or acet-p-phenylenediamine in alkaline solution with the resulting monoazo dye, and finally reducing or saponifying the product.
