Abstract

The weight of the drawing board and all of the parts connected thereto is held in equilibrium by a pneumatic spring (1, 2) arranged between the drawing board and the stand. Furthermore, there is a self-locking brake (3) which can be fixed by a tie rod (6) and can be released by spring force. When there is inadequate gas counter-pressure, or no pressure at all, in the pneumatic spring (1, 2), said spring (4) is connected to the brake (3) such that it can be released or relieved. The resulting self-locking function of the brake (3) prevents the drawing board from lowering. <IMAGE>
