Abstract

1534761 Pre-combustion chambers with hot plugs ADVANCED MATERIALS ENG Ltd 7 Jan 1977 [8 Jan 1976] 00607/76 Heading F1B A hot plug 18 which forms part of a precombustion chamber 12 in an indirect injection diesel engine comprises ceramic material and is retained in a plug seating in a cylinder head 10 of the engine by a metal ring 24 which is a press fit in a ring seating in the cylinder head. The hot plug has a passage (not shown) which leads from the pre-combustion chamber to an outlet port at the lower face 20 of the plug. The plug may be of silicon nitride material.
