Abstract

1532635 Expanding webs transversely MODERN ROLLERS Ltd and G BUTTERWORTH 20 Jan 1976 [23 Aug 1975] 35106/75 Heading B8R [Also in Division F2] A web expanding bar comprises a curved bar 1 on which is mounted a plurality of bobbins 4 each provided with spaced annular grooves 8 in which are located rubber 0-rings 9. The rings may be replaced by bonded rubber sleeves. The circumferential surface of the bobbins may be knurled. The radial faces of the bobbins may be chamfered to reduce friction between the bobbins or seizure of bobbins mounted on the curved shaft. The bobbins may be interconnected drivingly with one another and one end bobbin may be provided with a pinion which is connectible to a drive means.
