Abstract

1530355 Photo-conductive materials XEROX CORP 23 April 1976 [28 April 1975] 16586/76 Heading G2C A photo-conductive material comprises a first layer comprising vitreous Se or As-Se alloy, a second layer comprising a vitreous As-Te-Se alloy overlying the first layer and a third layer comprising a vitreous As-Se alloy overlying the second layer. The layers may be self-supporting or may be built up on a support such as an aluminium drum coated with aluminium oxide (Ex. 1) by vacuum evaporation in sequence, optionally in the same vacuum chamber. The layer constituents may be evaporated from separate sources in the chamber or flash evaporation may be employed. Each of the layers may be doped with Cl, Br or I. Specific, alloy compositions and layer thicknesses are given. It is stated that the addition of As in the second layer prevents migration of Te from that layer to the first and third layers.
