Abstract

To simplify assembly and to achieve a fool-proof sealing and fixing of the connecting point of elongate objects, a heating device is installed in the enveloping device which, at least in certain sections, is capable of recovering its shape under heat. The said heating device has an electrically conducting polymer material with a positive temperature coefficient of resistance, in order to avoid undesired and harmful overheating. If a current flows through the heating device, the heat thus generated causes the enveloping device to recover its shape and, after recooling, fixes the connecting point in a sealing manner. The fool-proofness is of significance in the case of electrical equipment and installations, quite particularly in the case of electronic equipment and installations. <IMAGE>
