Abstract
152,851. Baumann, K., and Metropolitan-Vickers Electrical Co. Sept. 26,1919. Nozzles.-A removable nozzle box 1 for an axial-flow turbine, divided by a diaphragm 6 into normal and overload steam chambers 7, 8 respectively, has a cap plate 4, shown in underside plan, Fig. 3, provided with guide-blades 15 to form nozzles 13, 14, and ports 11, 12 communicating therewith and with ports in the chambers 7, 8 respectively. A facing 17 of the box has a recess 18 in which are mounted stationary guide blades 19 co-operating with blades 20, 21 carried by the rotor 22.
