Abstract

1526211 Position indicator HYDRAULICS & PNEUMATICS Ltd 8 Jan 1976 [10 Jan 1975] 1088/75 Headings G1M and G1N [Also in Division F2] The position of an hydraulically actuated valve is indicated by the position of a non-rotatable piston 33, Fig. 1, sliding in a cylinder 10 on guide rods 15 held between caps 11, 12 by tie rods 13. The caps are provided with fluid inlet and outlet ports, and the piston which has non-return ball-valves in its head, Fig. 3, turns a square section helical rod 46 engaging with a guide and seal 45. The other end of the rod is circular in section and turns a shaft 24 and pointer 25 and/or operates a potentiometer 30 by means of gears 27, 28 to give a signal directly related to the valve position. A screw adjustable rod 17 forms an abutment for the piston and allows accurate adjustment of its travel.
