Abstract

1525234 Weighing device HARRIS-WALTON Ltd 22 Sept 1975 [7 Nov 1974] 48170/74 Heading G1W A weighing device comprises at least one pulley 5 for suspending the device from a crane or other lifting apparatus attachment means 14 for attaching a load to the device, and hydrostatic weighing means responsive to the load on the attachment means. A support member 11 is journaled in the frame member 1, 2 of the device and carries an annular hydrostatic load cell comprising a piston 21 moving in a cylinder formed by concentric members 16, 17 and connected to a pressure gauge 28. Hook 14 has a shank 13 extending through apertures in the member 11 and in the load cell, and a member 24 threadably carried by the upper end of shank 13 engages the piston 21 via a roller or ball bearing 23. The device may be arranged to produce a warning signal or to terminate operation of the lifting means if an excess load is lifted by the device.
