1524737 Preventing erosion IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 21 Jan 1977 [10 Feb 1976] 05176/76 Heading E1H [Also in Division B5] A mattress for civil engineering use, especially in sub-aqueous structures, comprises at least two plies of synthetic fabric one of which is woven and another non-woven, with fascines attached to said mattress. Fabrics of polyamides, polyesters or polyolefins may be used: the non-woven fabric may be made by adhesives, partial solvents, needlepunching or spunbonding. The layers may be stitched together. The fascines may be of conventional natural materials or may be tubes of plastic or non-woven fabric filled with cement or foamed polyurethane.
