Abstract

1524513 Endless conveyers for feeding sugar VAN DEN BERGH WALKINSHAW ENG Ltd 5 Aug 1975 [3 June 1974 (2)] 24527/74 and 24528/74 Heading B8A [Also in Division G1] Sugar is fed to weigh pans 30, 31, by a conveyer consisting of a rotor 10 having a peripheral load carrying channel 13 closed by an endless conveyer belt 16. The channel 13 is connected to pivotable shoots 21 and 22 which are independently movable by pneumatic rams 24, so as to feed one or other of the weigh pans 30, 31. The shoot 22 has a larger crosssection than that of the shoot 21, and is used for filling 95% of one or other of the weighpans at full speed. It is then swung over to start filling the other weighpan, while the shoot 21 is finishing off the first one with the precise amount.
