Abstract

1524202 Spark ignition engine combustion chambers TOYOTA JIDOSHA KOGYO KK 26 Sept 1975 [3 July 1975] 39482/75 Heading F1B The electrodes 12a, 12a' of a spark-plug 12 associated with the passage 10 between the main and pre-combustion chambers 6 and 9 are located such that they are at least more directly exposed to gas flow from the chamber 6 to the chamber 9 than from the chamber 9 to the chamber 6. In the embodiment shown the projection 13 into the passage 10 shields the electrodes from flow from the chamber 19. In another embodiment, Figs. 4 to 6 (not shown), the connecting passage 20 is formed by intersecting passages (20a, 20b) and the electrodes are located in an extension of the passage (20a) opening to the chamber 6 beyond the region of intersection of the passages.
