Abstract
1521727 Force transducers ASEA AB 30 Oct 1975 [3 Dec 1974] 44929/75 Heading G1N A magneto-strictive transducer for measuring the horizontal component Fh, Fig. 3, of the force exerted on a pulley 11 by a strip 13 comprises two parallel members 1, 2 supported by leaf-springs 3, with a load cell 4 rigidly attached between them. The cell carries two perpendicular windings at its centre where the core plate 4 is subjected to shear stress only. The leaf-springs may be replaced by rigid sides 14, Fig. 4, connected to the members 1, 2 by flexible joints 15, and the core plate 4 is attached to the surrounding parts on all four sides. The coil windings may be replaced by strain gauges.
