1515513 Carriage means for domestic appliances VALOR NEW HOME Ltd 20 June 1975 [21 June 1974] 27585/74 Heading A4U A domestic appliance such as a cooker, refrigerator, washing machine or spin dryer sits on rear castors (12), Fig. I (not shown), and front levelling screws (14) and includes between the screws a castor 22 rotatably mounted in a holder 20 which is pivoted at 24 for pivotal movement by a lever 34 between a retracted position shown in which the levelling screws are engaged with the floor and an extended position, Fig. 4 (not shown), in which the castor 22 engages the floor and the levelling screws are raised from the floor to facilitate displacement of the appliance over the floor. The lever 34 has a cranked portion 36 for engaging the holder 20 and in the extended position of the holder the portion 36 is located in a recess in the holder to retain it in its position. Alternatively, the lever may have a cam surface for engaging the holder. An actuating member for pivoting the holder may be located in a bottom compartment of the appliance.
