Abstract

1515113 Vehicle wheels DUNLOP Ltd 25 June 1975 [4 July 1974] 29624/74 Addition to 1439331 Heading B7C A rigid annular member 15, e.g. of steel, secured between the two annular posts 1, 5 of a divided rim, supports the tread portion of a tyre mounted on the rim when the tyre is deflated. As described, the annular rim part 5 is spot welded to the wheel disc 30 and the latter has a substantially octagonal periphery which together with the radially inner edge of the member 15 and flanges 3, 12 define a chamber 45 within which a sealing ring 29 is located. Lubricant may be located in the tyre/rim cavity to reduce friction between the tyre and member 15.
