Abstract

1,148,506. Vehicle tyres. DUNLOP CO. Ltd. 11 July, 1966 [14 July, 1965], No. 29765/65. Addition to 989,182. Heading B7C. A solid tyre is held on a wheel rim 18 by an annular metal strip 15 located within an annular channel 13 open to the tread surface, axial movement of the tyre relative to the wheel being prevented by a conventional wheel flange 19 and rectangular lugs 20 which are pressed radially-outwardly of the rim after assembly of the tyre. The base of the tyre radially inwards of the channel 13 may be of harder material than the remainder of the tyre.
