Abstract

1513162 Electrolysis of sea-water utilizing wave energy M G TORNABENE 16 May 1975 21051/75 Heading C7B Sea-water is electrolyzed between electrodes 38, 39 having free and unobstructed access to the freely-flowing water, the product gases being collected separately. The cell may be powered by wave-action motion using the device of co-pending appln. 21048/75, which includes a float-action lever 6 driving a liquid pump 14a connected to a turbine 19a which in turn powers an electrical generator 22a. The electrodes may be encased in a coarse-mesh cage 37 to prevent seaweed &c. blockages, and a suitable collection vessel 40, 41 inverted over the region of each electrode.
