Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for extracting and converting energy from water waves.
Increasing environmental pollution caused by conventional energy sources has in the past years increasingly led to the exploitation of regenerative Energy sources are researched and carried out. An important source of energy with tremendous potential represents the wave motion of water, especially in Seas and oceans. A skimming off of this energy source would become apparent special environmental friendliness, since no emissions arise and no interventions in inhabited cultural landscapes are required. It also has Wave energy has the advantage of being both annual and daily evenly distributed and thus adapted to the needs. Last but not least, it would also come Withdrawal of energy from wave motion benefits coastal protection.
Due to the advantages described, there have already been numerous efforts Such energy generation by means of suitable devices via wave power plants perform.
In a construction type, such as. B. the European patent application EP 000 441 describes, works essentially without mechanically moving parts. It describes a device in which in a closed chamber Wave motion leads to an oscillating water level. This is where it comes from also to an oscillation of the air volume in the chamber, which over a system of valves is transformed into a directed air flow. Means this air flow is then in other suitable units Energy conversions carried out.
The European patent application EP 496 146, however, describes a system in the toroidal floating body due to the wave motion on one as an axis serving vertical pillars up and down. You are there with a linkage connected, which converts the up and down movement into a rotary movement that one DC generator is supplied. The electrical generated with the help of the generator Energy is then used to electrolytically produce hydrogen and oxygen produce. In this way, the energy generated is ultimately stored achieved in chemical form. A disadvantage of this invention, however, is that everyone Float is assigned its own generator and electrolysis system. On in this way, the entire system becomes very complex and expensive. Also draw the toroidal floating bodies only generate wave energy in a very small area and the continuous pillar breaks the waves and disperses the wave energy, without being used.
A system is also described in US Pat. No. 1,513,162 in which the Vertical movement of a spherical float in electrical energy is implemented. For this purpose, the floating body is connected to a rod Piston connected, and the up and down movement of the piston drives an oscillating Fluid amount back and forth. The oscillating movement of the fluid is controlled by valves in rectified a section of the circuit and thus passed through a turbine. Electricity is generated there. This system also has the disadvantage that the Floating bodies only tap the wave energy at certain points.
In contrast, the present invention has set itself the task of an efficient System for the generation and conversion of energy from the movement of To provide water waves.
According to the invention, this object is achieved by a device which is composed of a there is a platform extending parallel to the water surface, with which one or several floating bodies for energy transmission are movably connected, wherein these floating bodies are designed fluid-dynamically in the form of a boat hull, whose side walls are joined on the bow side so that they are preferably one form an acute angle, its bow against the main flow direction of the water has, and preferably a length of 2 to 20 m and a weight of 50 to 2000 kg.
This boat-like design of the floating body is efficient Removal of wave energy possible. Because of the appropriate size the wave motion is tapped over a wide area - and not just selectively. On the other hand, the elongated and fluid dynamic shape of the Float in their direction of movement not completely destroyed, so that they are for further skimming operations are available. The larger volume of the Float simultaneously allows this one compared to the Prior art floats have greater weight. This is also an issue Advantage of the device according to the invention, because during the downward movement of the Floating body determines its weight the available force. On such a float according to the invention can therefore deliver a greater power.
This increased efficiency of energy absorption is also supported by the fact that the floating body has a natural frequency which is in the range of the frequency of the Water waves lie or can be matched to them. By taking advantage of the Resonance behavior therefore leads to particularly good energy transmission on the float.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a large number of the described Floating bodies regularly arranged in rows in a row. Preferably the floats of the following row are in the gaps of the first Line. In this way, the entire wave energy in a large area Levels can be tapped. It is also possible that the shape and Dimension of the float changed from row to row to make it stronger to take decreasing wave energy into account. With the rule described The boat-like floats are preferably arranged with their moderate arrangement Longitudinal axes aligned parallel, in such a way that this longitudinal axis is perpendicular to the wave fronts.
So that such an optimal alignment of the boat-like float is ensured even if the The direction of propagation of the waves changes, the floats are preferred rotatably connected to the platform about its vertical axis. In particular, it should the rotatability of this connection can be blocked by a locking device. On this ensures that the floats are always optimal in relation to the direction of wave propagation are aligned.
In the described, in particular large-scale arrangements of swimming the supporting platform can be firmly attached to the sea floor as well be anchored to the floor even on large floating carriers. Compared to the systems according to the state of the art, however, everyone can If the advantage is that the structural changes in only a few places normal wave propagation is disturbed. Most of the wave energy therefore be used as intended.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the floating body with the Platform with at least one bar that can only be moved in the vertical direction Platform connected. This ensures that the float on the one hand maintain their position, and on the other hand their out of the waves kinetic energy from movement in a directed up and down movement is implemented. This vertical oscillation can then be in different ways other forms of energy are implemented.
In particular, the connection can be made by two rods, the bow and stern of the boat-shaped float are connected. In this way, the order the transverse axis of the floating body rotating movements ("pounding") be optimally used.
A possible implementation of the vertical rod movement according to the invention leads to a rotational movement of an axis of rotation (shaft) in the same direction. A such transformation can e.g. B. can be achieved in that on the platform projecting part of the connecting rod carries a rack, which has two gears drives. These gears are in opposite directions Direction of rotation in an idle state so that it only energy in one direction of rotation can transmit. This ensures that the up and down movement can only be carried by one of the gears. The gears can rotate then after possibly reversing the direction of rotation on the shaft described be transmitted. In this way, the wave receives a continuous in the same direction Rotary motion.
The advantage of the large used according to the invention Number of energy-generating floats is that by statistical distribution of the pulsating energy supply in total one uniform average speed is generated. Of course, usual ones technical measures such as B. the use of flywheels, the synchronism of the Increase rotary movement additionally.
The described axes of rotation (shafts) transfer their rotary motion to one the generator arranged on the platform, where electricity is generated. Of the The electricity generated can be the last form of conversion of the energy then can be routed ashore via submarine cables. But it is the same conceivable, for example via electrolysis devices, a further transformation of the electrical Perform energy in chemical energy.
Instead of converting it into rotary motion, the vertical movement of the Connecting rod to the float via an arranged on the platform Pump can be implemented. Such a pump can be in a hydraulic or pneumatic circuit are there and ensure the circulation of the medium. By arranging valves according to the principle of a rectifier circuit be ensured that in a section of the hydraulic or pneumatic circuit is always in the same flow direction as the drive a turbine and a generator is suitable.
According to a further embodiment of the invention, it is conceivable as a boat-shaped Floating bodies to use real boats. When using the invention Device z. B. within a port facility could in this way in the port storing boats connected via a coupling device and thus for Energy generation can be exploited.
The device according to the invention is suitable for obtaining z. B. electrical Energy from the wave movement of water. Such energy production is Particularly advantageous because it is very clean and with a large energy potential works in an environmentally friendly way. The invention is particularly efficient of energy generation.
The following is an embodiment of the invention with the help of the figures described.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine Gesamtansicht der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung. Fig. 1 shows an overall view of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 2 shows the transformation from vertical movement into rotary movement.
Fig. 3 zeigt den erfindungsgemäßen bootsförmigen Schwimmkörper. Fig. 3 shows the boat-shaped floating body of the invention.
The platform 1 according to the invention can be seen in FIG. 1 together with the boat-like floating bodies 2 connected to it. The platform 1 is supported on its edges on floating carriers 8 . These swim carriers are in turn anchored to the sea floor. Below the free surface of the platform, the boat-like floating bodies 2 are arranged in regular rows. Each floating body is connected to the platform via a rod 3 which can only be moved vertically. Waves entering under the platform ensure that the floating bodies 2 move up and down. By connection to the rod 3 , this movement is transmitted to the platform, where it is converted into a rotary movement of the shaft 4 by a conversion mechanism. The shaft 4 collects rotary movements from all floating bodies and directs this rotation to a generator house 5 arranged on the platform. There the rotation is converted into electrical energy. This electrical energy can finally be carried ashore via submarine cables.
FIG. 2 shows in detail one possibility of how the vertical up and down movement of the connecting rod 3 can be converted into a rotary movement with a constant direction of rotation of the shaft 4 . The rod 3 carries a rack 3 a in its upper section. This rack drives a related gear 6 a. On the same axis as the gear 6 a sits a disc 6 c. However, this has a freewheel in one direction of rotation, so that a drive by the rotation of the wheel 6 a can only take place in the other direction. If such a drive is present, it is transmitted via the transmission belt 7 a to the disk 6 e, which sits directly on the shaft 4 to be rotated. On the other hand, the gear 6 a drives another gear 6 b. The rotation of this gear is inevitably always with the opposite direction of rotation compared to the gear 6 a. On the axis of the gear 6 b sits another disc 6 d. Due to a free wheel is also driven this only in one rotational direction, so that it via the transmission belt 7 b only a rotation in one direction on the shaft 4 is arranged on the disk transfers.
By appropriate selection of the freewheeling directions is achieved in this way that, for. B. in the upward movement of the rod 3, the disc 6 c z. B. is driven clockwise while the disc 6 d is not rotating. Conversely, 6c does not rotate during the subsequent downward movement of the rod 3 , while the disk 6 d is driven clockwise and transfers this energy to the shaft 4 . A drive device according to FIG. 2 therefore leads to the fact that both the vertical upward and the downward movement of the rod 3 are each converted into a rotary movement of the shaft 4 with the same direction of rotation.
In Fig. 3 shows an embodiment form of the boot-shaped floating body 2 according to the invention. The side walls 11 a, b are joined to form an acute-angled bow 10 which points against the flow direction of the wave fronts (arrow).
The rear 13 is also characterized by an acute-angled shape that is advantageous in terms of fluid dynamics. The float 2 is in the case shown by two connecting rods 3 , which are arranged at the bow and stern, connected to the platform. The hinge joints 12 allow the float 2 to rotate about its transverse axis, so that the so-called "pounding" of the hull can be used for energy generation. Of course, instead of the hinge joints 12 , a rigid connection or else ball or other joints could be selected.
