Abstract

1512831 Resistance heating element BACKER ELECTRIC CO Ltd 20 May 1976 [22 May 1975] 22146/75 Heading H5H A helically coiled heating resistance wire 2 is secured to a rigid plate 3 of thermally and electrically insulating material by a plurality of spaced clips 4 each of which has a hooked end 5 engaging a turn of the resistance wire 2, a shank 6 passing through the plate 3 and a tail 7 bent over at the face of the plate 3 remote from the wire 2. Both the end 5 and tail 7 are pressed into the plate 3. A separate layer of insulation 8 covers the tails 7 of clips 4. The plate 3 is mounted in an insulating bowl on the upstanding rim of which a ceramic glass plate spaced from spirally wound helically coiled wire 2 is mounted to form a hot plate.
