Abstract

1511294 Tyre pressure indicators E F HANSRUEDI 6 May 1975 18886/75 Heading B7C Deflation, to a predetermined value of a tyre which is in communication with chamber 13 via a duct 21 or 22 will result in piston 3 being moved towards one end of cylinder 11 by a spring 4, which movement in turn causes the actuation of an alarm. The piston is sealingly connected to one end of a bellows and the other end of the bellows is sealingly connected to the cylinder. Preferably two tyres intercommunicate via ducts 21, 22 and chamber 13 when their pressures are normal. The intercommunication is prevented by seal 12 when the pressure in one of the tyres drops to the predetermined value. The tyres may be inflated via inflation valve 2. The predetermined value may be varied by means of screw 20. The alarm may comprise a lamp 16 or a transmitter 17 which transmits a signal via aerial 19 to a receiver in the driver's cab of a vehicle or off the vehicle, e.g. at a filling station. Preferably cylinder 11 is of aluminium or other non-magnetic or non-ferrous material, and bellows 18 is of stainless steel, and rod 8 is of plastics.
