Abstract
1509243 Making superconductors BBC BROWN BOVERI & CO Ltd 27 March 1975 [11 July 1974] 12945/75 Heading H1A A plurality of superconductor filaments coated with an intermediate layer of normal material are placed in a matrix of a normal material, this assembly is then hot-formed to form limited diffusion regions at the boundaries and then cold formed to form the superconductor. In the embodiment a Nb/Ti filament is coated in CuNi or Ag, pressed at 610 C. and then cold drawn. The coating may be applied by vapour deposition, electrolytically, or as a tube.
