Abstract

1509050 Sieve construction T C ADAMS 2 Nov 1976 [4 Nov 1975 26 July 1976] 45798/75 and 31105/76 Headings BID and B2H [Also in Division B5] A mineral grading screen element or a slurry dewatering screen element comprises a slotted steel reinforcing plate 8 embedded in a cast polyurethane body 6, the edges of the plate projecting upwardly around the edges of the element to form flanges 13. The apertures 25 in the element diverge from the working face of the element. The flanges 13 enable a series of elements to join side-by-side to form larger screens. In a second embodiment, see Figure 18, a frusto-conical screen 36 is formed from a series of curved steel plate reinforced polyurethane elements secured together by longitudinally extending edge flanges 28, to make a vibrating centrifuge basket.
