1508082 Portable containers; orientating articles SOC GENERALE POUR L'EMBALLAGE 6 Feb 1976 [7 Feb 1975] 4741/76 Headings B8D and B8U To facilitate axial alignment and correct angular orientation of a bottle on a centring head 5 prior to applying a paint inscription or design on to the bottle, the bottom of the bottle is provided with a frusto-conical surface adapted to co-operate with a corresponding aligning surface of the head and in which is formed a single radially-extending indent 3 having opposed parallel side surfaces 3a and 3b, for engagement with corresponding surfaces 6a and 6b of a head registration spur 6. The bottle is of clear or acid.frosted glass and the inscription is formed by a paint comprising a precious metal, e.g. gold, platinum or silver, preferably applied to an enamel layer on the glass.
